The 2025 Grammys have officially taken flight thanks to Billie Eilish, who delivered a soaring performance of her standout Hit Me Hard and Soft track “Birds of a Feather” at Crypto.com Arena Sunday evening (Feb. 2).
The lights came up on the pop star and her older brother/producer, Finneas, standing with their band on a bright set made to look like the plant-filled landscapes of the San Gabriel Mountains and Eaton Canyon in Altadena. As Eilish weaved through the buoyant love song, nostalgic photos of her and her sibling playing in the canyon as children flashed on screens behind them.
“And I don’t know what I’m crying for/ I don’t think I could love you more,” belted the “Lunch” singer, who sported an orange jersey, a string of pearls and a blue baseball cap. “It might not be long, but baby, I/ I’ll love you ’til the day that I die.”
At one point, cameras cut to Taylor Swift dancing along to the performance with Margaret Qualley, while Cynthia Erivo also jammed out in the audience. After singing her final notes, Eilish gave a shout-out to her home city — “I love you, L.A.” — while the “Anti-Hero” singer, Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams and more gave her a standing ovation.
The Grammys come just three days after the “Bad Guy” musician and dozens of other artists banded together for the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, raising funds for wildfire relief efforts after much of the area — including Altadena — was left devastated by the crisis in mid-January. Eilish’s third studio album arrived in May, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200; “Birds of a Feather” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October, four months after it first entered the chart.
Eilish is up for seven Grammys in 2025 — including album of the year — tying with Charli XCX, Post Malone and Kendrick Lamar for second-most nods. Only Beyoncé has more, scoring 11 nominations total.
“Birds of a Feather” is up for both song and record of the year.
